THe slices are getting brown, because of the oxidation due to the contact between the fruit and the oxygen from the air.
So, the advice of puting the slices on a teller and wrapping the teller with a film and puting it in the fridge is good, for it avoids too much contact with the air.
But the best thing to do in my opinion, is to put lemon juice on them : the acid conbtained in the lemon blocks the oxidation chemical reaction, making the slices blown, and it spices them up at the same time !
Well there is the natural way. That is lemon juice.
But there is also a product in the spice aisle that can keep fruit from turning brown
Dip each piece of banana in Lemon juice
dip them in pee.
i’m so immature :}
lemon juice works well
but the spice works too, not quite as good though.
keep them in the fridge w/ some plastic wrap too.
the best way is to put some lemon or lime juice on them when you cut them, and cut them at the last possible moment.
some good things to dip in are: strawberries – leave the stalks on, kiwi fruit – sliced up, grapes, lychees, berries, etc.
some other things which would be nice apart from fruit – shortbread, doughnuts – sliced up, biscuits, brioche, marshmallows, brownies, cookies, biscotti etc.
hope it goes well – and remember the lemon juice = ] x
Yes, I’ll go with the lemon or lime juice also.
