We have been invited to a cheese fondue party and I am in charge of the salad or side dish but I am not sure what would go with cheese fondue. Any suggestions or recipes

Do the Swiss serve fondue during September?

I know fondue is generally a winter dish, and September is somewhere between summer and autumn, but it gets pretty cold nevertheless, right? Especially up in the mountains? So, would they serve fondue?
