The Swiss company set the challenge to all of its customer service’s team and associates around the globe to eat its nation’s delicacy of cheese fondue at the same time, on the same day as part of its 150th Anniversary celebrations and Water Coolers Direct joined in!

You have probably heard how easy and tasty fondue is, but the first thing you need is a good fondue set. Today there are a wide range of fondue sets available on the market. There are three main types of fondue sets (chocolate, cheese and meat) and each set caters to a different crowd.

It doesn’t matter what set you choose, they will usually include a pot, stand, forks and a heat source. You will find there are two types of heat sources, fuel based and electricity based.

A fuel based fondue pot will use denatured alcohol as a liquid fuel. The fuel is lit underneath the pot and it most cases it can be adjusted to control the heat. A fuel based fondue pot will work the best when it is made of ceramic, as this allows for better heat distribution. You should always remember to keep a fire extinguisher on hand if you use an open flame in the house.

An electricity based fondue pot is made from metal and they have a nonstick surface which helps when it comes to cleaning. They will also have a temperature control which allows you to reach the perfect cooking temperature. An electric fondue set works best with meat.

You should keep in mind that a fondue set generally only feeds about six people. If you are expecting more guests, you should have more than one fondue pot. Most sets will come with special forks that have colored handles so everyone will know which forks is theirs. Before you purchase your first fondue set you should check online to see if you can get a better deal than most retail stores.
