At Grand Reopening, Melting Pot Restaurant Raises over $ 1,700 for National Ovarian Cancer Coalition

The Melting Pot Restaurant in Towson hosted a fundraiser for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) during the restaurant’s grand reopening on May 27th. Funds were raised by the restaurant donating 15% of the evening’s sales, and were supplemented by individual donors. “We are grateful for the donation and were really energized by participating in the grand reopening”, commented Nancy Long, Co-President of the Maryland Chapter of the NOCC, and a survivor of ovarian cancer. The Melting Pot’s participation was in memory of Marlyne Lyons, the mother-in-law of John Fox, the restaurant’s owner.

The Melting Pot is also a sponsor of the NOCC Maryland Chapter’s 2010 5k Run/3k Walk on Sunday, September 12th at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, MD. More information about the event and registration can be found at: http://www.nocc.kintera.org/mdcentral
