The Melting Pot Franchisee Featured in Gulf Coast Business Review

The Melting Pot Franchisee Featured in Gulf Coast Business Review

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) June 29, 2008

Bob Johnston, franchise owner of The Melting Pot in Tampa, was recently profiled in the Gulf Coast Business Review. The weekly newspaper provides business news and resources on the area’s companies, trends, entrepreneurs and CEOs.

The article, titled “Entrepreneurs to watch,” profiled Bob Johnston and how he got into the industry. In 1985, Johnston was 21, a college drop out and moved to Tampa with his wife to run the fondue restaurant, The Melting Pot. “With sales of $ 217 million, 132 franchisees and 5,000 employees, Johnston’s hunch about the Melting Pot was right,” wrote the paper.

Johnston and his brother Mark and Mike devised a new business plan–from focusing on profits, customers and team-member experience, to a customer-first model, new menu and trainers for employees. “The new strategy worked. In the next 10 years, The Melting Pot increased its restaurant count from 19 to 100. Average restaurant volume tripled.”

Johnston enjoys life as an entrepreneur because it allows someone to stomach the risks that are involved. The company is in the process of developing a third concept restaurant featuring a wine bar and small plates restaurant.

The Hazards Of Home Window And Door Safety Bars – Are They Truly Worth The Danger?

There are several points that homeowners as well as businesses choose with a purpose to give protection to their property. One measure that is commonly taken is definitely the addition of safety bars to doors and windows. Even though there are some added benefits of securing property, these kinds of bars generally endanger the people inside.  Home encroachment is practically the only security that these particular bars offer, however, and also in my thought the potential risks included in having bars on windows is simply not benefit the degree of security provided.

Several traditional safety bars are generally rusted and extremely hard to take out even when there is plenty of time on hand.  In emergency scenarios, each and every moment matters and these particular bars could be the particular reason which lock persons inside the burning or flooding building, holding them hostage to the danger inside the building.

Even though security bars probably have got a time and place, they may be upgraded by some thing which is much more good at frightening criminals and something that is equipped with an better level of protection for the extremely precious property of your home or office – those who are in the house. Security alarm monitoring services have become common meant for invasions or intrusions as well as for fire, fumes and panic situations. The expenses included in regular monthly monitoring for some seems good but many may find that the value of  this specific service offers is actually worth each cent.

Alternative possibilities in order to burglar bars that are not terribly overpriced normally include placing thorny bushes beneath home windows and having them cut back just sufficient that they do not obstruct the view of the windows.  Good light is an another option to consider as well as the installing of a reliable floor safe gives lots of protection for assets stored in the building from attackers and fires.  Explore options exactly like these before resorting security bars.

To answer the query of no matter whether security bars are a good idea the perils for home or office security an answer is definitely a unquestionable “Absolutely no!”.  Right now there are many other protective options which is often taken in order to stop thieves that cause far less personal risk.
