JoeCubicle – Jazz on the Green

On Thursday nights in the summer here in Omaha, our biggest art museum (Joslyn Art Museum) hosts an outdoor (and free) jazz concert every Thursday evening. It’s a really cool event with tons of people of all walks and ages. You can bring in whatever you want as far as chairs, coolers, food, drink. I even saw someone with an entire fondue set up. Here is the official blurb: From 1985 to 2008, more than 545000 people — over one-half million guests of all ages — have relaxed, reveled, and shared in the music and community of the series. From the east lawn, looking south, then facing the grand staircase, then, last year, temporarily moved north to the Museum’s future Discovery Garden site, and back again, to the new Peter Kiewit Foundation Sculpture Garden, crowds have gathered outside on Joslyn’s campus to begin their weekends early.
