I want to use my new fondue set at a New Year’s Brunch. ?

I will have fruits, meat and breads to dip but I’m not sure what else to serve. This is not a football crowd so the wings and beer thing is out.
Would quiche be too much cheese? Soup too messy for buffet style?
Salad or Veg platter? Any ideas greatly appreciated!

A veggie platter is always a good choice for buffet style eating. I would also go with the traditional chip/dip combo. Though overused, it is pretty much an expected item at parties. But change it up by using homemade guacamole and salsa, they’re not that difficult to make and taste so much better than store-bought mixes. Also, put nuts, wrapped candies and such in little dishes and spread throughout the house for people to snack on. I have always done that for my parties and you will be amazed how fast those little bowls empty. And if you’re looking for a main dish, how about buying a honey-baked ham, turkey, bread, and the fixings and let people make their own sandwiches. Or buy one of those 3 or so foot-long subs and just cut and serve. Little sausage wieners, wings, jalapeno poppers, and other hot items are nice but difficult to serve unless you can keep them warm. I would recommend not using these items and just keeping your fondue as the only hot dish on your buffet. :-) I hope that helps. Have a great party and a happy New Year!

I like your idea of quiche. It wouldn’t necessarily be too much cheese. It would provide something substantial to eat between dips into the fondue pot.

Consider a veggie or seafood quiche with just a little cheese in it.

no not at all cheese is good yoou can do these ideas if you choose

    use cantaloupe
    honeydew
    strawberries

    papya

    mini meatballs
    mini hot dogs
    chicken pieces browned

    pumpernickle bread
