  • I boughtthis miniature pan to warm a bowl of soup, not for melting butter or chocolate; It really is a little too small but will hold a can of condensed soup plus thewater needed to reconstitute thesoup ( about 21 Ozs total) but justbarely and the base is a littletoo small for even the smallest electricelement on my stove. A gas cooktop would be worse and a smooth cooktop probably much better. empty, the pan is handle heavy but filled evenpartially rock steady
Frankly it is so pretty that I’ll use it as a bibelot( bric-a brac) rather than a cooking tool. but then maybe I’m just a weird dude . . .:To me, it is a work of visual art!For meltingbutter I’dchoose a ceramic or porcelain creamer inthe microwave instead ( faster/safer)

  • S.A.:

I haven’t used it yet and I am sure it will work well at melting butter, but my problem with it is that the bottom is too small around to sit well on my gas stove. It would be fine on electric or flat surface, but it is hard to get it balanced on the one I have so that it doesn’t tip over. I am thinking that I will probably have to hold the handle while I am using it to be sure it doesn’t tip. It may be that the burner grill covers on my stome are not well designed, but none the less there is not enough support under the tiny pan. It is cute and I am sure will be useful for the purpose intended.

  • What a useful little pan! I just got it today, and I’ve used it twice…..to warm gravy and to heat soup. Every bachelor needs one of these!

  • This little pot is the perfect size to melt butter or make sauce or gravy. I was looking for an ideal size to melt butter and found this…..couldn’t be happier. And with the great deals you can get from Amazon, I think I found this at a reduced price……I love Farberware products….take a licking and keep on ticking……

  • Thrilled with this product. It is so hard to find a sauce pan in these dimensions- perfect for heating your coffee’s milk on the stove or melting butter. I bought a similar one years ago and have been looking for another, – the other one I have is a little taller and smaller at the base- which is better for frothing milk- but I haven’t found another stovetop model. This is classic Farberware with a solid, heavy bottom, a really lovely little saucepan- I”m considering getting another. Great little pan.
